Full Time Permanent Position | Starting Immediately

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire design process from schematic design through to contract administration, on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Lead an internal Design Team, including meeting facilitation, reviews (design, drawings and specifications), and coordinating the design between consultants.
  • Present to the clients and other stakeholders, and prepare presentation materials where required.
  • Responsible for architectural calculations and analysis as needed for designs.
  • Participate in the review processes, by being the primary reviewer for deliverables.
  • Oversee and coordinate site review and contract administration, including both office functions and field functions.
  • Lead discussion for contract negotiations and change orders and implement required documentation.
  • Participate in resource management.
  • Participate or lead the creation of new processes (e.g. resource management, project management) where of interest.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Architecture and registered with the NLAA.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Architect.
  • Experience with Canadian building codes, standards, and bylaws.
  • Experience in the design process from concept to completion, including contract administration.
  • Experience managing and coaching staff, creating a supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Experience negotiating and managing contracts.
  • Experience applying building codes & bylaws, including knowledge of the NBCC and NL Building Code
  • Proficient in Sketchup, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, AutoCAD and/or Revit
