The Atlantic Cultivation building is a full-scale independent Cannabis cultivation and distribution facility within St. John’s. The 91,000 sq ft facility hosts 12 independent grow rooms for all stages of plant life, drying, curing, and packaging facilities, as well as labs, offices, and staff facilities such as change rooms and a large lounge with kitchenette and ample curtain wall glazing. The second storey of the facility is home to Atlantic Cultivation’s primary offices, using a modern combination of open office cubicle space and dedicated offices, along with a large conference room and a divisible multipurpose room. The office space is able to take advantage of the high ceilings required in such a facility, and as such has ample curtain wall glazing along all exterior walls creating a bright and open work environment with plenty of natural light.
As cannabis production is a budding industry in Newfoundland the facility was designed with growth and scalability in mind, with the ability to add up to 20 additional grow spaces with all supporting mechanical and electrical equipment within the current footprint of the building. This kind of phased approach in a production facility can notably reduce the costs of future development by assuring that additions will have minimal impact on the existing building and it’s operations.
